IT'S EASY! Upload a standard windows media file to the Pay2Play website, and we'll instantly return a "locked" version of that same file right back to you, embedded and wrapped with licensing and payment information that you specify. Otherwise, it is 100% identical to the original file in all respects.

SUPPORTS ANY WINDOWS MEDIA FILE: To protect any Windows Media file with Pay2Play technology – any movie, audio or music file having the AVI, ASF, WMV or WMA filename extension – click the above Lock a File tab, identify the file to lock, set Pay2Play licensing terms for that file (i.e, indicate payment terms for unlocking the file), and click the "Generate Pay2Play File" button. Bingo! A few seconds later, we'll return you a link to the locked, Pay2Play-protected version of your file, in WMV or WMA format.

LICENSING/PAYMENT OPTIONS: Because Pay2Play embeds your payment and billing instructions inside the windows media file itself, whenever a user tries to play the file, the user is presented with licensing terms that you specify, including these options (choose one or more, in any combination)

• Own: Pay X$ once, view forever
• Pay per view: Pay X$ once, watch once
• Rent(1): Pay X$ once, watch Y number of times
• Rent(2): Pay X$ once, watch for Y number of days

LEAVE THE B.S. TO US: If creating content makes you happy, and wasting time with clunky, unwieldy internet technology makes you miserable, you've come to the right place. Here's what happens "under the hood" of any Pay2Play file that you generate: The locked version of your file cannot be unlocked unless, prior to playing the file, the user first agrees to terms and conditions that you specify (typically, payment/licensing terms.) Distribute the file widely, while we take care of the rest: We collect all license fees from consumers that play the file, manage fraud, verify each play against your license terms, protect your copyright, and remit license-fee payments directly to you every week.

GET PAID WEEKLY: All license-fee revenues collected are remitted to you weekly, less a 5% processing and handling fee. (The 5% fee is waived for participants in affiliated content-creation-and-delivery networks, such as webcam networks, where superceding or alternate licensing arrangements may apply, and the Pay2Play service is often provided for free) Payments are disbursed one to two business days following the end of the week. For reporting and payment purposes, the week begins 12:01am Sunday and ends at 11:59pm Saturday. Payments are typically disbursed on the following Monday or Tuesday, just one to two business days after the close of the week. (Even more rapid payment and reconciliation arrangements may be custom-configured for high-volume content publishers, producers and distributors).

SECURITY: Once a user has unlocked your media file with his or her payment information, or otherwise agreed to your licensing terms, the file is unlocked for that user, and only that user. So, while the user can freely redistribute the file anywhere (such as to other websites, bulletin boards, p2p networks, or email lists), any subsequent user who receives or downloads the file will also be prompted for payment information when they try to play it. The file's license terms are like a family gene that gets passed down from generation to generation: No matter how many times the file is copied or manipulated, each subsequent version still contains your original license terms. Nobody can watch your movie unless and until they pay you.

ENLIST OTHERS TO PROMOTE & DISTRIBUTE YOUR FILES: (Optional feature) Need help distributing your file as widely as possible? Enlist the aid of the Pay2Play marketing affiliate network of more than 100,000 experienced independent webmasters and marketers. These are world-class web experts who know the clicks, tricks and secrets to successful internet marketing. Here's how it works: Each affiliate decides his own commission, by imposing a surcharge to your licensing terms. For example, if you charge $20 for a buy-it-once-and-own-it-forever license of your base-jumping video off the Empire State building, a marketing affiliate that wants to help you get your file before a larger audience might choose to add $5 to the price the consumer pays, which he takes as a commission any time a user licenses a Pay2Play file that he distributed. Of course, if a user unlocks the Pay2Play file that you distribute, no such marketing affiliates will receive any commission.
